blast from the past?

11 Jan

Not really a fitting title, but it’ll do. Who knows what era Sherlock Holmes comes from? ’90s? ’80s?
I went to see Sherlock Holmes yesterday. It’s awesome, and I want to read the books now, hehe.
It’s funny and exciting. Action-packed and well, actually a bit like The Da Vinci Code. But Sherlock Holmes style.

you’re not the only one with a gun, bitch

I hope you weren’t expecting posts for the last two days! I was too busy seeing Avatar and playing with firework (:
Oh, excuse me.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! HAVE THE MOST AWESOME 2010!

How was your old/new year? I ended 2009 by going to ‘Avatar’ in IMAX 3D, it is nothing you’ve ever seen. Blown away after it. Probably in a shock. My eyes and ears were hurting, but it was totally worth it. I kind of felt the same after I’ve seen ‘District 9′, but maybe even more overwhelmed. I don’t know, I have something with alien films. Yes, I know. Weirdo! But what can I do? Except for ‘E.T.’, he’s more an alien for the little ones.
Back to ‘Avatar’, if you get the chance to see it in IMAX and 3D, do it. You won’t regret. The screen… It’s huuuuge. And the sound… I have no words for it.
Seeing Pandora on such a big screen, it was literally breath-taking. I couldn’t even finish my medium popcorn or drink my bottle of Ice Tea, I was too busy looking at everything happening in front of me.
I won’t forget my first time I went to a movie in IMAX.
Bring it on, ‘Alice In Wonderland’!

you’re so old

Bummer! Avatar today. Sold out. Mweh. Choose quick! Eh. Old Dogs. Typical comedy. Funny. Hahaha.

If I would have to describe my day, it would be like that. We planned to go to Avatar at 09.30 AM but my friend wasn’t allowed to go that early, sigh… So we had to go at 1 PM. Of course, it’s sold out. It’s Avatar! In IMAX! With REAL 3D glasses! Mweh.
Oh, it was very very very crowded in there. Hell.
And we had to choose another movie, or go at another time, or just don’t go. We went to Old Dogs. And I wasn’t really sure about it first, but it’s a typical, funny comedy. You can watch it or not. It’s not AWESOME! or STUPID! but you know, just a movie that’ll make you laugh (:
John Travolta plays in it. Man, is it just me or did he became old? He looks quite the same, only with a bigger belly (:

How’s it going chipmunks?

I went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 with my little sister. It was funny, enjoyable and don’t forget cute. Who can resist Theodore?
I don’t really know what else I have to say about this film. There’s a new group, called The Chipettes.
And well, for the rest you have to see for yourself ;)

I’m going to Avatar IMAX 3D this Tuesday, stoked! Here’s the trailer, but you have to watch it in HD 1080p and full screen, promise you will! Do it, do it, do it!

it’s horror time!

27 Dec

Hello creepers!

Well, guess which horror I saw today (:
It’s a remake and I believe it has the same name as the original. It’s called The Amityville Horror. It’s so good, and so scary! I’m not that easily scared (maybe I should see The Exorcist or The Ring) but this was scary. No heart-attacks. ’til the last second…
Um, not a lot of blood… Or wait, don’t watch it if you can’t stand blood. There are no body parts being cut off or something, so that’s safe. There are some eww figures, and they’re very creepy, I warned you!
I didn’t scream or anything, but I’ve read some ‘reviews’, no not reviews, but that little forum thing on imdb and there were a few screamers, so I think I’d give the scream factor a… 7.
Have fun (:

Oh, I should probably tell what’s it about, kind of:
It’s about a family/house. No, it’s more about the house. Well, once upon a time, in 1973, there lived a happy and nice family there (I think). Until the uncle started to hear voices and he kills the whole family.
A year later, another family moves in. They didn’t really know about the catastrophe/disaster/’mass murder’, they were told about it, but still they were oh, so stubborn.
A few days later, the man of the house (played by hobolicious Ryan Reynolds) starts to hear voices, too. And you know what happens, ha..?

oh, the horror

24 Dec

I watched three horror/thriller films today, here’s my little feedback (:

Started with ‘Paranormal Activity’, they call that a horror? It wasn’t that scary, maybe if you watch it on the big screen, but no, it wasn’t that great. Though I’m wondering if this really happened (of course they replaced the real tape with what you get to see). That would be creepy… It kinda reminded me of Drag Me To Hell. And is The Exorcist really that creepy/scary/gross/ewww? I just realized, I haven’t seen the ‘good’ horrors. You know, The Exorcist, The Ring etc. Should I be glad or have a sorry ass?

Next was ‘Orphan’. That was good, I’d give it my Woot Woot (: Haven’t seen such plots, so thumbs up to originality, not many films are so original anymore. I felt so bad for Max, and at the same time, I felt a pity for Esther. That was, until I found out that she wasn’t the little girl we thought she was…

And the last one, which I just finished watching, ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning’. Originality? Thumbs down. Oh, the horror? Yes. There was blood and a pretty shifted family. Though the whole film was a bit predictable, you know? What I was wondering about in the end… How come everyone died? Then I realized – again – it was called blahblah: The Beginning, so it actually makes sense(?)

popcorn?

Another question! What was your favourite film of 2009? Or perhaps not your favourite, but the best? ;)

I can’t really say what my favourite/best is. ‘New Moon’ is one of ‘em, but I still have to watch some films, like Avatar ;) And I couldn’t see the 16+ films, because… well, you know why!
Oh, still have to see ‘A Christmas Carol’ and … ‘Precious’ of course ;)
So, any further recommendations?

‘sup!

Sorry sorry sorry I didn’t blog for the last 7(!) days. I don’t know what happened (shame shame shame). I finally got a break for two weeks, so I’ll be happy to serve you all with my useless blogs (:

First, this ‘Valentine’s Day’ trailer:

I think I’m going to see this one, but only for Anne Hathaway. It looks a bit like ‘New York, I Love You’. You know, how they compiled the trailer? But I’ve seen the longer version, but I can’t find that version right now, so you’ll have to do it with this one or search on your own ;]

I think I’m also going to see ‘Precious’, it looks really good. Finally, a non-BS film!
‘Precious’ trailer

And ‘Brothers’, looks nice, too.
